For a whole year Lin Wan cooked for her roommates, earning nothing and often paying out of her own pocket. But when newcomer Zhou Ke promises her boyfriend will cook for free, Lin Wan is pressured into refunding the money and stops cooking. The free meals soon turn into paid, shoddy food; the roommates run errands, get pushed around and even get food poisoning before realizing they were tricked. When everyone begs her to stay, Lin Wan shows the receipts to prove her innocence, then moves out and opens her own food stall. Zhou Ke passes off Lin Wan's dishes as her own to lure customers, but Lin Wan exposes her in public and gets the refund back. Free of a draining relationship, Lin Wan finally has an income, friends and a life of her own.
