Shen Xi, an errand boy in an opera troupe, is forced to don the Overlord mask to save a fellow performer, unexpectedly awakening the power of the Stage of Ten Thousand Faces. Each time he steps onto the stage, he suffers from "opera erosion" by the character, yet this also grants him glimpses into the truth behind his master's disappearance. Confronted with the Thousand-Faced Opera Demon that devours actors, Shen Xi refuses to yield to the formidable masks and chooses instead to write an opera of his own. As the spotlight blazes, he relies on his truest self to awaken the lost souls.
