Zhuang Xiaoyao, an itinerant accountant, travels the world leading his mule, Jin Yuanbao. Practicing neither immortality nor martial arts, he specializes in taking down two kinds of people: unscrupulous grain hoarders and fraudulent mystics. Using a fake "treasure bowl" trick to lure out hoarding profiteers, and throwing yellow paper to expose the "boiling oil divine judgment," he uses the imperial law to punish corrupt officials and restore justice to the common folk. With streetwise wit and clever folklore conjuring, once his abacus clicks, trickery conquers trickery.
