Others Compete for Favor, I Cook: The Entire Harem Falls in Love with Me
Liu Lanxuan, a culinary instructor at New Oriental Cooking School, unexpectedly transmigrates into a novel and takes the place of the original story's ill-fated villainess. Using her culinary skills, she opens a restaurant and earns imperial rewards for providing disaster relief. Originally hoping to find a live-in husband and enjoy a peaceful life, she accidentally recruits the Crown Prince, who is traveling incognito. Swept along by the plot, she enters the palace through the imperial selection and is appointed Consort Zhen. With no interest in competing for the Emperor's favor, she wins over the Empress Dowager with her delicious cooking and befriends the Empress and the other imperial consorts, dispelling hostility throughout the harem. She proposes establishing academies where boys and girls can study together, inspiring the women of the inner palace to pool their resources and fund education, gradually changing society's attitudes. When powerful aristocratic families obstruct the establishment of these schools, Liu Lanxuan volunteers to leave the palace and inspect their implementation. Though reluctant to let her go, the Emperor bestows upon her the title of Noble Imperial Consort Zhen and grants her the rank of a first-grade female official, allowing her to travel freely.
