Parting at the Border: I Gift My Wife a Red-Tasseled Spear
Su Qingcheng has been away at war for three years. On the day she returns victorious, the entire city gathers, expecting to see He Zheng become a laughingstock. She orders He Zheng to leave their marital chambers and surrender the Heavenly Secret Jade Pendant, publicly demanding a divorce. Little does she know that the seemingly useless coward she humiliates is actually the great marshal of the empire's armies, a man she has admired all her life but has never met. Bound with meteoric iron to train under immense hardship, He Zheng finally silences his critics at the victory celebration and exposes an imperial spy. When the truth comes to light, Su Qingcheng personally kills the traitor and kneels to beg for forgiveness. In the end, He Zheng casts aside the red-tasseled spear and lets her return alone to the border. The two will never meet again in this lifetime.
