Former street hustler A Ji relied on Xiao Lan, who possessed the power of an herb spirit, to transform from peddling fake medicine along the streets into the renowned Medicine Saint, establishing the Medicine Saint Hall. Yet as more lives were saved, Xiao Lan's body grew weaker day by day. Shen Yan, the young master of the Medicine King Valley, tracked them down and revealed a cruel fate: Xiao Lan was a lost herb spirit whose lifespan diminished with every life saved; once a thousand were cured, her spirit would scatter into oblivion. Torn between fame and fortune and the life of his beloved companion, A Ji struggled between greed and affection, ultimately giving up everything to flee with Xiao Lan. When the collective goodwill of those they helped formed an overwhelming surge of merit, the chains of fate shattered, freeing them both from the deadly curse and leading them toward a blissful future.
