Chen Guoan picked up a bottle of medicine and fed it without authorization to his feverish grandson, causing the child to be poisoned and rushed to the ICU. This bottle was originally the lifesaving medicine for Song Yu'an's five-year-old daughter. The court ordered Chen Guoan to pay 430,000 yuan in compensation, but he refused to comply. Exploiting online public opinion, he charged interview fees and played the victim to gain sympathy. While Song Yu'an was desperately running around for his daughter's treatment, Chen Guoan ignored advice once again and fed his grandson near-expiry protein powder, causing a secondary poisoning that resulted in the child's tragic death. A moment of greed led to a double tragedy.
