As the stand-in for Zhou Zhiting's white moonlight, Zhou Zhiyu, Zhao Shan signed a three-year contract with him. During this period, she strictly fulfilled her duty as a substitute, but in her heart, she had already planned her retirement life after the contract expired. When the contract was about to end, Zhou Zhiyu returned to China to assert her dominance. Zhao Shan quietly packed her things and moved to the suburbs, only to be unexpectedly tracked down by a disheveled Zhou Zhiting. As they spent time together, Zhao Shan gradually learned the truth: Zhou Zhiyu was merely a pawn planted by the Wu family beside Zhou Zhiting, with no real feelings between them. Furthermore, Zhou Zhiting turned out to be her childhood pen pal, "Cicada", who only took her in as a stand-in to get close to her. Ultimately, the two cleared up their misunderstandings, confessed their true feelings, registered their marriage, and Zhao Shan attained the happy life she had long looked forward to.
