Durante las vacaciones del Día Nacional, Qin Jia se prepara para llevar a su madre de regreso a su pueblo natal en coche. Su compañera Liu Mei le suplica que la lleve de camino, prometiendo que solo iría ella sola con una maleta. Pero el día de la salida, Liu Mei trae inesperadamente a su esposo y a su hijo, llena el maletero hasta el tope y organiza públicamente para que la propia madre de Qin Jia tome un autobús y así liberar espacio. Tras ser rotundamente rechazada, la familia se apodera directamente del asiento del conductor, obligando a madre e hija a bajarse del coche.
