After a night of wild revelry, Gu Linchuan wakes up to find himself ten years in the future, surprisingly married to his longtime obsession, the cold goddess Bai Ningbing, and even raising a son who bears her striking resemblance. During eight years of marriage in that life, he curbed all his arrogance and gave her endless gentleness, only to be met with her monthly temple retreats, distant coldness, and an empty marriage license. When he caught her making an exception for her male assistant and discovered their marriage was merely a sin she sought to atone for, he was heartbroken and demanded a divorce. Drowning by accident, he is reborn on the day of their wedding. This time, he leaves her at the altar, vowing to cut all ties and live freely. Yet gradually, he uncovers the painful secrets hidden behind her ascetic detachment and monastic vows.
