Shen Qingyao is used to pouring her heart out to her doll, "Laifu". After Cheng Jingchuan joins the company as executive assistant, he accidentally discovers that his consciousness enters Laifu's body every night. Unable to move or speak, he can only listen to her unguarded, late-night thoughts. Using what he hears, he quietly assists her by day and reconciles her relationship with her newly reunited cousin Jiang Yutong. Along the way, his respect turns into love. After investigating Qiao Shuang's identity and making peace with the veteran director Li Youwei who betrayed her, Shen Qingyao learns to accept and trust others. In the end, Cheng Jingchuan proposes, and although the old Laifu is gone, a new Laifu he hand-sewed himself becomes a silent witness to their love.
