Free Loan of Parking Space, Neighbor Collects Rent Behind My Back
I lent my parking space free of charge to my neighbor's son for a year, paying the management fees myself. Behind my back, she rented the space to an outsider to collect rent, earning over a thousand in three months. When I wanted it back, she kidnapped me emotionally by bringing up 'I helped you pick up your kids'; the property management advised us to each take a step back, but the one stepping back was entirely me—she kept the money, the outsider's car stayed parked, and I paid out of pocket every night to park outside. In the end, she wanted to buy off the account with seven hundred and twenty. I smiled: I acknowledge the sentiment, but the accounts must be cleared. That night, I parked back in my own parking space.
