Before the Typhoon, They Tore Up the Acquisition Contract
On the eve of an exceptionally powerful typhoon making landfall, Lin Wanyi, president of the Lin Group, rushes to Durian Village with an amended contract offering a higher purchase price and a fleet of refrigerated trucks to harvest the durians and minimize losses. The village chief and internet celebrity Zhao Cheng incite the villagers to tear up the contracts and demand exorbitant prices, insisting on waiting for an even higher offer. They force her to leave on the spot. After the typhoon passes, the entire village's durian harvest is destroyed. The villagers then surround the company with fallen durians, falsely claiming they are naturally ripened fruits that survived on the trees, and exploit the lie for profit through livestreaming. Eventually, their deception is exposed, and they suffer the consequences of their own actions. Only the four farming households that stood by their principles and trusted Lin Wanyi manage to save their harvests and secure long-term partnerships.
