In the Great Zhou Dynasty, demons run rampant and the common people suffer in misery. To save his critically ill sister Shen Ying, down-and-out painter Shen Mo enlists in the Demon Slaying Guard as a mere mortal. On his very first mission, his squad is ambushed by a Bronze-tier Shadow Wolf King. On the brink of death, he awakens the supreme treasure, the Primordial Myriad Souls Scroll, rocketing his strength to the mid Bronze tier. Subduing the heavily wounded shield warrior Lu Feng and assassin Pei Yu, he forms the Qinghe Squad, embarking on a path of defiance and counterattack with the divine ability to paint demons and seize their souls. However, after over three thousand villagers of Dahe Village are slaughtered overnight, a peak Bronze-tier White-Tailed Demon Fox transforms into a human and sneaks into the city as a greater conspiracy brews. This is a thrilling, life-burning saga of a painter who takes up a blade, commands demons with his brush, and carves a bloody path out of the abyss.
