Professor Shen, Do Not Leave After Class
The first time she saw Shen Zhinan was in A University's most crowded lecture hall. His white shirt buttoned up to the top, behind gold-rimmed glasses were cold eyes — he was the youngest associate professor promoted exceptionally at thirty-one, a presence students dared only admire from afar. Yet it was her public declaration, "Teacher Shen, I like you," that made the tips of his ears turn completely red. In the eyes of outsiders he was ascetic and aloof, but only she knew how soft and insecure he was behind closed doors, waiting for her until the early hours of the morning, his eyes red as he begged her not to leave him. A misunderstanding caused her to turn away in a huff, yet he waited bitterly in the deep of night with a fever. She finally understood: outside he is Professor Shen, but at home he is her very own Shen Zhinan.
