The land stretches barren for thousands of miles as locust plagues wreak havoc. To save the realm, the Emperor of Xia makes three humble visits to invite the reclusive master Su Yi out of hiding to formulate a pesticide. Meanwhile, during an inspection, Princess Yun Ge of Xia mistakes the absorbed, hard-working Su Yi for a freeloading parasite and dismisses him on the spot. Seizing this opportunity, a scheming pretender with the exact same name steals his findings, claiming full credit for the breakthrough. Thus, the true hero, Su Yi, is cast aside in complete silence.
