When Disaster Strikes, I Use Modern Knowledge to Turn the Tide
In a year of severe drought, Lin Chuan uses his geological knowledge to predict a devastating flood, but the villagers dismiss his warnings and think he is crazy. He takes Xiao Pang, the hunter Shi Zhenshan, and an old yellow dog up the mountain ahead of time to escape the danger. When the flood arrives, their homes are completely destroyed. His former fiancée, Li Xing'er, betrays their engagement to seize family property and secretly has an affair with Lin Zhu. Even after fleeing, she incites the others to steal supplies and even tries to lure a black bear into attacking Lin Chuan. As disaster survivors flock to the mountain, conflicts erupt and epidemics soon follow. Lin Chuan stands firm, confronts one crisis after another, treats the refugees, surveys the land, and builds shelters. Through the trials of natural disasters and human nature, the survivors gradually abandon their prejudices and work together to rebuild a new village on the barren, drought-stricken land.
