When She Awakens
In the 1980s, Shen Ying was tricked back to the countryside by her husband Zhou Weiguo and her cousin Shen Jiaojiao, and locked in a cellar, solely to seize her quota to enter the city. On a stormy night, she smashed the lock at the risk of her life and escaped, bursting into her husband's promotion and engagement banquet holding the old abacus left by her father, to settle accounts and tear apart the lies in public. From then on, she set up a street stall, opened a tailoring shop, and founded a clothing factory. With the help of Hong Kong businessman Lu Zhengting, she staged a step-by-step counterattack, ultimately exposing the conspiracy of Zhou Weiguo and the Su family, reclaiming her wealthy family background, and firmly grasping her destiny in her own hands.

In una notte di tempesta, spezzò il lucchetto a rischio della vita e fuggì, irrompendo nel banchetto di promozione e fidanzamento del marito stringendo il vecchio abaco lasciato dal padre, per fare i conti pubblicamente e smascherare le bugie. Da quel momento aprì una bancarella, una sartoria e fondò una fabbrica di abbigliamento; con l'aiuto dell'imprenditore di Hong Kong Lu Zhengting, si rifece strada passo dopo passo, smascherando infine la cospirazione di Zhou Weiguo e della famiglia Su, ritrovando le sue origini altolocate e tenendo saldamente in mano il proprio destino.
