Fourteen Days: An Unfinished Documentary
Lin Mo is an editor in the city used to cutting lies, until he receives a call from his uncle at 3 AM: his mother, Su Guilan, has terminal pancreatic cancer with at most fourteen days left. He rushes back to his hometown overnight, only to see his mother squatting in the courtyard, using fifty-cent super glue to mend a leaking red plastic basin and scolding him for coming back. To stay, he lies that his company sent him to shoot a rural vlog; not wanting to be a burden, his mother lies that it is just chronic gastritis. The fourteen-day countdown begins.

Lin Mo è un montatore in città abituato a montare menzogne, finché alle tre del mattino riceve una telefonata da suo zio: sua madre, Su Guilan, ha un cancro al pancreas in fase terminale e le restano al massimo quattordici giorni. Si precipita al suo paese natale durante la notte, ma vede sua madre accovacciata nel cortile, intenta a usare della colla forte da cinquanta centesimi per riparare una bacinella di plastica rossa che perde e che lo sgrida per essere tornato. Per poter rimanere, mente dicendo che la sua azienda lo ha mandato a girare un vlog rurale; per non essere un peso, sua madre mente dicendo che è solo un vecchio mal di stomaco. Inizia il conto alla rovescia di quattordici giorni.
