Four Million Eight Hundred Thousand in the Retirement Home
He Jingchuan has been married for five years, depositing eighty thousand of his salary into the family retirement card every month, believing he had saved a way out for the whole family. When his mother urgently needed thirty thousand for dialysis, there was only one yuan and thirty cents left in the card—four million and eight hundred thousand had been secretly transferred by his wife Xu Manning to her lover Tang Shijie, to fund his purchase of a car and a house, and to mortgage his parents-in-law's retirement home. Even the son they had raised for five years was not his biological child. At the birthday banquet, he laid out the evidence one by one, beginning a long-overdue reckoning.
