This Pot of Water, 300 Yuan
Beside an old neighborhood redevelopment construction site in the south of the city, an ordinary pot of boiled water becomes the source of a dispute between construction workers and a restaurant owner when she charges 300 yuan for it. Zhou Guoqiang, the construction foreman, chooses not to argue or seek revenge. Instead, he insists on settling the bill and making the rules clear. As customers move elsewhere, prices become competitive, and business crises arise one after another, the owners of the two small shops gradually reconsider honesty, responsibility, and human kindness through their repeated choices. Through the everyday conflicts of ordinary people, the story promotes respect for labor, honest business practices, rationally defending one's rights, and standing firm on one's principles. Businesses should clearly display their prices, and human relationships should be built on respect and principles.
