Picked Three Days Late, The Whole Village Regretted It
In Qingling Village, Sichuan, as the red-heart kiwifruit approached harvest, the buyer Shen Dongcai offered a guaranteed cash price of 5 yuan. Villager Wei Dahai, incited by Ma Jinwang, agitated the entire village to wait with a verbally promised high price of 8 yuan, ignoring torrential rain warnings. Some fruit growers wanted to sell early but were collectively blocked. When the torrential rain struck, a large batch of kiwifruits became waterlogged and softened, and the verbal high price completely fell through. Everyone suffered heavy losses, and Wei Dahai's scheme was also exposed. Through this lesson, the village established transparent acquisition rules, and the fruit growers learned to cast aside unrealistic high prices, strictly adhere to harvest standards, and learn to take responsibility for their own choices.
