Benjamin, head of The Reapers, sleeps with Layla from The Vermilions to survive his Ice Curse. He leaves her a check. Now she's out for blood. She outbids him on the Lifeblood Fungus he needs. The price? A fake marriage to please her grandpa. At the party, Benjamin humiliates his enemies and saves Layla's grandpa. Next day at their wedding, the people who once treated him like garbage show up, and freeze when they see the groom. Then the city's elite file in and drop to one knee. That's when they all realize: the man they've been mocking... runs The Reapers.
