Xia Juxiang is reborn on the day her husband has just passed away. No longer partial, she slaps the ungrateful ingrates, takes back the pension and job quota, rescues her two daughters, and helps the eldest divorce. Opening a breakfast diner and a clothing store, she crushes villains and amasses wealth, putting her calculating sons, daughters-in-law, in-laws, and neighbours firmly in their places. With her sons and daughters settled, at her seventieth birthday banquet surrounded by children and grandchildren, she makes a wish only to plunge into darkness—realising the so-called rebirth was merely an illusion before death; there is no regret medicine in this world. Ultimately, Xia Juxiang closes her eyes for good at the age of seventy-six.
