Ye Fan, the Immortal Venerable of the Three Realms, plagued by guilt toward his family, risked his very soul to reverse the river of time. However, he lost all his cultivation and was reborn as a chubby brown rat, returning to the era one year after his disappearance. A swindler named Wang Teng pretends to help locate missing family members, attempting to scam Ye Fan's mother out of a massive sum of 100,000 yuan. Cultivating the "Nine Transformations of Karma," which evolves by devouring karmic cause and effect, Ye Fan relies on his newfound speed and thunder powers to thwart the fraud. Yet, anxious to save her son, the mother goes alone to hand over the money. Ye Fan arrives in the nick of time to fight off the swindler. In the perilous moment, his mother protects the rat, faintly sensing something extraordinary about it. Ye Fan then forms an alliance with his wheelchair-bound sister, Ye Jiajia, who mistakes him for the family's guardian deity and conceals his true identity.
