In the 1980s, the soul of a special forces soldier travels back in time into the body of Zhou Weidong, a reckless young man from a fishing village. The original Zhou was addicted to gambling and burdened with debts, leaving his wife and daughters to suffer. After being reborn, Zhou Weidong turns over a new leaf. Relying on his exceptional skills, he ventures into dangerous waters, repays his debts by catching seafood, and protects his wife and daughters. He fearlessly withstands the relentless suppression and sabotage of local strongman Gao Zhiqiang, works hard to establish a seafood shop, and remains honest and principled. He helps his neighbors increase their incomes and eventually resolves old grudges. The family reconciles with one another and welcomes a peaceful, happy new life through their own hard work.
