I Refuse to Be the Crown Princess, I Ride Across the Battlefield
Zhou Zhao, the legitimate daughter of a general's household, was betrothed to Crown Prince Zhao Yan in childhood, and they grew up together. Yet Zhao Yan fell in love at first sight with Xue Ning of the Xue family and even demanded that Zhou Zhao give up her position as crown princess. Heartbroken, Zhou Zhao resolutely broke off the engagement. Just as war erupted along the southern border, the father and brothers of the Jiang family were killed in battle, and Jiang Mu, heir to the Marquis Who Guards the South, was urgently ordered to lead troops to the frontier. Zhou Zhao led an army to reinforce him, and the two fought side by side on the battlefield. After their great victory, they married and jointly commanded the armies of Western Zhou and the southern frontier. Upon returning to the capital, Xue Tai colluded with the third prince to impeach Zhou Zhao for abusing her military power. Zhou Zhao calmly outmaneuvered them and joined forces with others to expose the conspiracy, bringing the villains to justice. In the end, Zhou Zhao and Jiang Mu remained together for life, while she and Zhao Yan put the past behind them and, as sovereign and subject united in purpose, protected the lands of Great Liang.
