Across Worlds and Time Pearl Comeback Record
In a fishing village in the 1980s, Shen Qiuyue has just given birth to triplets when her husband goes missing at sea. Her own mother forces her to remarry to pay off a debt, while her blind mother-in-law and mute sister-in-law struggle to survive. The pearl around her neck unexpectedly awakens, granting her the ability to travel to the modern world forty years into the future, along with a space where time stands still and goods remain fresh. Wild razor clams and other seafood, overlooked by everyone on the local tidal flats, are worth a fortune in modern markets. Trading goods between the two worlds, Shen Qiuyue obtains rice, flour, and baby formula, treats her mother-in-law's eye condition, and patiently helps her sister-in-law learn to speak. She leads the entire village in exchanging seafood for food, outmaneuvers local thugs and malicious rumors, and gradually builds a livelihood. On a barren seaside, she gives her entire family hope for a better future.
