Strange Tales of Nanyang Jiu Gu Du E Zhai
In her youth, the Dongbei girl Jiu Gu, who believed that "shortcuts are truth," abandoned commerce for Taoism due to a guilty past and traveled far to Nanyang to practice. In a bustling old mansion, she used consciousness illusions to dismantle human obsessions. The heterodox Taoist Ouyang Xuan set up a city-wide maze with "parasite-thought dolls" to amass wealth and prove the Dao. In reality, everything originated from the clients' fantasies, using this to infinitely amplify the desires and lusts deep in their hearts. Five unit cases peeled away the abyss of human nature layer by layer, ultimately pulling out a startling conspiracy of an old grudge from the master's sect spanning twenty years. In the clash between the righteous Dao and evil thoughts, there is the questioning of human nature hidden within: "All shortcuts have their prices secretly marked."
