As the supernatural resurfaces, bizarre rules sweep across the world. Zhou Bai is chosen as Daxia's selected contender to represent the nation in a series of strange and deadly challenges. His first trial takes place in a family of four. The family members appear normal, yet everyone must obey a set of eerie rules. Although four people live under the same roof, there are actually only three. His wife's red hair clip marks the boundary of trust. The cries of a baby at midnight can be ignored. If the black dog turns white, it must be thrown off the balcony. And under no circumstances may he share a bedroom with his wife. As real and fake family members continually test him, every rule conceals a deadly trap. Zhou Bai must distinguish truth from illusion and unravel the hidden dangers to survive in the haunted house.

Zhou Bai viene scelto come prescelto di Daxia per rappresentare il suo Paese in una serie di prove ambientate in racconti misteriosi. La sua prima sfida si svolge in una famiglia composta da quattro persone. I familiari sembrano normali, ma devono rispettare numerose regole sinistre.
