Reborn back to 1980 before the heavy snow sealed the mountains, looking at his daughter whose lips were purple with cold and his wife whose face was sallow and body emaciated from hunger, Zhou Mingqiang kicked over the Zhou family's big iron pot. In his past life, as the adopted son of the Zhou family, he worked like an ox and a horse for the Zhou family his whole life, but in return he only got the separation of his wife and daughter, and finally froze to death in the pain of illness. In this life, he starts out leaving with nothing. No house, no grain? He turns around and goes into the mountains; relying on his past life's memory and intuition, hares, pheasants, roe deer, and ginseng fill the mountains with inexhaustible treasures. The Zhou family waits to watch his whole family starve to death in the drafty dilapidated house, but night after night they smell the aroma of meat wafting from his house, making their mouths water with greed. The whole family cries and comes to their door begging for forgiveness.
