Back to 2003, I Deliver Food to the Most Dangerous Place
In the winter of 2024, he sent off his grandmother, but woke up in 2003 in Liuwa Village—at the worst time of the SARS outbreak. The whole village pooled twenty-one yuan and forty cents together and sent him to the front lines. He set up a stove in the most dangerous place; saving people was up to doctors, but what he could do was keep the warm meals coming without a break, and those who couldn't be saved were all recorded in the small notebook held in his arms. When the epidemic subsided, he returned to the village to lead the fellow villagers in growing cucumbers in the middle of winter; in 2008, he led the whole village again, hitting the road loaded with vegetables. This is not a story of a great hero—it is a story of you helping me, and me helping you.
