Face aux pressions de rivaux internes et extérieurs tels que Zhou Dabiao et Liu Yuanhang, il s'appuie sur une technologie de pointe et des avantages matériels pour réussir une contre-attaque éclatante, battant finalement l'entreprise japonaise Toyo Seiko et transformant un atelier de bourg en une référence de l'industrie.
