Retiring From Showbiz and Returning to the Village: The Farming Husband Is a Bit Sweet
Fading actress Xu Zhi was betrayed by her boyfriend Han Wei and best friend Xu Ying together at an awards ceremony, and was smeared across the internet as a homewrecker. Facing her agency's pressure to apologize, she decisively terminated her contract and retired from the entertainment industry, following her father's arrangement to marry far away into the Lu family village. She originally thought her husband Lu Chengxiao was just an ordinary peasant boy, but unexpectedly her mother-in-law doted heavily on her daughter-in-law, bestowing gold and real estate, while her husband was actually a hidden tycoon holding tens of thousands of acres of high-tech farms. On the other side, Han Wei and Xu Ying, having lost their investments, suffered career declines, went to the countryside to participate in a variety show, and subjected Xu Zhi and her husband to all kinds of humiliation. Just as the two mocked Lu Chengxiao for only having a tractor, Lu Chengxiao made a phone call and summoned a whole row of Bentleys, officially kicking off Xu Zhi's counterattack and face-slapping.
