Returning to My Hometown to Farm: The Plants I Grow Compete to Repay My Kindness
Urban girl Zhang Wanwan quits her job to return home and stay long-term in the village, caring for her elderly grandmother and taking over a barren field that nobody believes in. By chance, she awakens the ability to perceive the inner voices of plants; the plants throw minor tantrums and can even protect the field in return for kindness. With the help of partners such as Boston ivy and the old camphor tree, the barren field yields high-quality vegetables and fruits, attracting attention while also drawing covetous eyes from others. Her cousin enters the mountain and discovers precious vegetation and minerals, triggering a storm of competing claims and overexploitation. Zhang Wanwan guards her mountain forest home, transforming the barren field into a rare plant demonstration base. She originally wanted to live in peace, but keeps finding herself amused and exasperated by a boisterous crowd of plants.
