Little Daoist priest Xu Zhichen, whose Daoist name is Wuxuan, was adopted by his master since childhood. After descending the mountain, he unexpectedly discovered that many pets, stray animals, and even wild animals could not step onto the path of reincarnation after dying. Relying on the mysterious Book of Myriad Spirits, he and medical genius Shen Qinghe run a pet clinic, curing diseases and saving lives by day, and sheltering homeless animal souls by night. With the soul of the ragdoll cat Puff trapped, Xu Zhichen traces it to the mysterious soul-imprisoning place underground in the southern part of the city, and also discovers that Guiyuan boss Gu Linchuan is inextricably linked to this.
