Awakened, I Am No Longer Bound
Xu Nian returned to her hometown for the Spring Festival. As soon as she stepped through the door, she was subjected to moral kidnapping by her eldest uncle's family, who forced her to donate five hundred thousand to pave a road. Refusing to comply, she investigated and discovered that the so-called road repair was an opportunity for her cousin to build a private road and profit secretly. She also found out that the monthly allowance for her grandmother was embezzled by her cousin-in-law, leaving her grandmother's aches and pains treated only with inferior ointments. Her cousin owed her one hundred and twenty thousand and refused to repay it, yet threw lavish banquets. Furthermore, a cousin she had financially supported turned on her with false accusations, and relatives maliciously edited videos to spread rumors in an attempt to ruin her reputation. At the family clan meeting, Xu Nian produced evidence such as bank transfers and recordings, shattering the hypocritical familial affection. She forced the other party to repay the money and issue a public clarification. Finally, she took her grandmother and left her old home, cutting off the shackles of her original family.
