Twenty Years Later, Returning Home: Seeing People's True Colors at the Engagement Banquet
Gu Yanning, a leading scientific researcher, went overseas for twenty years to carry out a confidential national research mission. She concealed her identity and was unable to contact her family. On the day the project was successfully completed, she returned home in glory. Her husband and daughter had remained steadfast in their trust, waiting for their family to reunite. Grateful for her future son-in-law's years of care for her daughter, she promoted him beyond the usual rules. Unexpectedly, the Xu family revealed their mercenary nature and publicly humiliated her daughter and her husband. After being promoted, Xu Chengze forgot the kindness he had received, abused his position to make things difficult for others, and even conspired with others to manufacture and sell counterfeit products and forge recall notices to harm the elderly. Gu Yanning upheld her principles, investigated the facts, and took the initiative to rectify defects in her own company's products. In the end, those who broke the law were sentenced and ordered to compensate their victims in accordance with the law.
