A group of young people are accidentally stranded on an island and begin a life of survival in the wild. Fleeing a sudden danger, they stumble upon an underground fortification left over from years ago. Facing the complex conditions inside, they work together to explore it and manage to find maps recording routes across the island. Along the way they meet other castaways, one of whom ignores a warning to take shelter from the weather and runs into danger. After they return, the protagonist falls ill from days of exhaustion; his companions set aside their differences to care for him, and everyone pulls together to plan a feasible way off the island.
