My Best Friend and I Fell Out, I Sold Lunch Boxes and Rose to the Top
Shen Nanxing and her best friend Su Man go into business together, opening a restaurant. Shen Nanxing runs the kitchen, while Su Man does none of the work. To pay for her daughter’s heart disease treatment, Shen Nanxing uses 100,000 yuan from their shared savings. Su Man fires her, giving her only 150,000 yuan in compensation. Shen Nanxing sets up a stall at a construction site with her daughter, selling boxed meals and making a living through her cooking skills. With no one to run the kitchen, Su Man switches to pre-made dishes and is exposed. She pays a huge sum in damages and repeatedly tries to smear Shen Nanxing’s reputation, only to end up promoting her business instead. Shen Nanxing’s business continues to grow, while Su Man’s schemes repeatedly fail and eventually land her in prison. After her release, Su Man kneels and begs Shen Nanxing to take her in, but she still tries to poison someone and is arrested again.
