Ruyi in Hand, Three Wishes a Day
Nine-year-old boy Xiao He goes up the mountain to gather herbs, and saves the Baiyun Mountain guardian divine beast white snake that accidentally fell off a cliff. He is gifted a jade ruyi with usage limits, allowing a maximum of three wishes per day, with no greedy or excessive desires. With a kind heart, Xiao He uses the ruyi to help the starving and cold fellow villagers, but this attracts the covetous eyes of the greedy second uncle Shen Erwang, grain merchant Qian Wancang, and others. For the sake of seizing the ruyi and searching for the mountain's treasures, people repeatedly make mischief, triggering the ruyi's backlash. The white snake leads everyone to see the spiritual spring and golden valley in the mountain, and only then do they understand that the true treasures are not gold and silver. The villagers let go of their reliance on the treasures, working together with one heart to dig water channels and cultivate grain seeds. Shen Erwang wakes up to reality and turns over a new leaf.
