Sheng Lin, a fisherman who was betrayed by his brother-in-law and cheated out of millions in profit-sharing after years of fishing together, relies on his grandfather's surviving navigation journal to take his old fishing boat alone into dangerous deep-sea reefs. Every trip brings him catches of extraordinarily valuable and rare seafood. His ungrateful brother-in-law repeatedly follows him, lays ambushes, and conspires with black-market boat owners to steal his cargo. But unfamiliar with the sea conditions and driven by greed, he repeatedly sinks his boats and runs aground, ultimately suffering the consequences of his own actions. On one side is a hardworking fisherman making an honest living and receiving the ocean's generous gifts; on the other is a greedy opportunist whose schemes ultimately bring the sea's wrath upon him. Together, they set the stage for a thrilling maritime survival drama filled with raging waves and difficult choices that reveal human nature.

Sheng Lin, un pescatore tradito dal cognato, che gli ha sottratto milioni dalla sua quota di profitti dopo anni di pesca insieme, si affida al diario di navigazione lasciatogli dal nonno. A bordo del suo vecchio peschereccio, si avventura da solo tra le pericolose scogliere degli abissi marini e riesce a catturare a ogni viaggio prodotti ittici rari dal valore esorbitante. Il cognato ingrato continua a seguirlo, a tendergli imboscate e a cospirare con i proprietari di imbarcazioni illegali per rubargli il carico.
