Saving Empress Ma in the Great Ming, Just Seeking to Be Granted Death
Modern youth Pei Jin accidentally time-travels to the Great Ming and awakens the Life from Death system. By accumulating enough merit and being granted death by the emperor, he can return to the modern era. He steps in to save the critically ill Empress Ma, making a massive contribution, yet he is single-mindedly bent on dying and repeatedly makes astonishing moves. He presents advanced technologies such as potatoes and firearms to the imperial court, benefiting the people of the Great Ming to accumulate merit, while continually and deliberately provoking Zhu Yuanzhang in hopes of being executed by extreme punishment. Yet every time he faces a crisis, he always returns safely, bringing even more innovative skills. Zhu Yuanzhang is both infuriated and terrified, shifting from violent rage with a drawn saber to pleading bitterly with Pei Jin to live on well, staging a story of the Great Ming that is both absurd and comical while driving the progress of the times.
