Mu Ting, a concubine's daughter of the Mu Manor, was bullied by her legitimate elder sister Mu Yan and her mother since childhood. Forced to drink poison that silenced her, she feigned muteness just to survive. On Mu Yan's wedding day, fearing rejection by Prince Chu Han Rui due to having lost her virginity, Mu Yan threatens Mu Ting's mother's life to force Mu Ting, who shares a similar stature, into the bridal chamber in her place! Enduring relentless abuse in the Prince's manor and unexpectedly falling pregnant, Mu Ting carefully schemes to protect her mother and child, engaging in a fierce battle of wits against Mu Yan and Han Jing, who covets the throne. Meanwhile, Han Rui falls deeply in love with Mu Ting and reveals the truth, leading the two to join hands and shatter the conspiracy.
