Bankrupt and in debt, Zhou Haichuan and his daughter Nuannuan are kicked out by his younger brother's family. By chance, the widow Lin Meiyuan takes them in. Haichuan unexpectedly awakens the Dragon King's legacy, granting him the ability to locate treasures in the deep sea. By going out to sea alone to catch rare seafood, he secures long-term supply deals with two major restaurants owned by Tang Fuhai and Su Mingyue. As he saves money to pay off his debts and build a new home, he constantly fights off antagonists like his greedy brother Zhou Haitao, sister-in-law Wang Cuifen, Liu Fugui who harasses Lin Meiyuan, and trouble-making villagers. Along the way, he uncovers precious treasures like pearls, falls in love with Lin Meiyuan, and ultimately pays off all debts, buys property and boats, and lives peacefully with his family.
