Before going abroad, her boyfriend Gu Heng promised to make their relationship public upon his return. Buck-toothed and chubby, Lu Xian believed him and worked tirelessly to transform herself just to be worthy of standing by his side. Yet when he returned, he held the campus beauty on his arm and publicly sneered, "Is she even worthy? Just thinking about her makes me sick!" The companion account she had relied on for a whole year turned out to be an alt account he tossed to someone else to chat for him—he never loved her and had stolen another's sincerity. Humiliated in the piano room, rock heartthrob Shen Ran shielded her behind him: "Touch her again and see what happens." It turned out he was the one who accompanied her through her lowest moments behind that screen. She broke out of her cocoon on stage and became an overnight sensation. Full of regret, Gu Heng tried to expose the alt account to tear them apart, but she only smiled: "I've known all along."
