While handling a complaint, water company supervisor Su Wan accidentally discovers that her husband, Chen Yue, used their marital assets to buy a house for his pregnant mistress. Enduring the pain, she methodically gathers evidence, exposes the truth publicly at her father-in-law's 60th birthday banquet, and files for divorce. The court hearing reveals that the mistress is also involved with another man and the child is not Chen Yue's. Ultimately, the court orders the full recovery of the funds, awards the property to Su Wan, and leaves Chen Yue penniless with a ruined career, while Su Wan earns a promotion and starts an independent new life.
