1980s Family Division: The Story of Raising Shrimp on Barren Tidal Flats
In a rural village in the 1980s, after splitting from his family, Lin Dong receives nothing but two dilapidated thatched huts and two mu of barren saline-alkali land. Together with his wife, Shen Qiuping, he works hard and steadily. He first catches eels on the wasteland to earn his first savings, then adapts to local conditions and digs shrimp ponds, gradually figuring out how to raise shrimp in saline-alkali soil. Their lives steadily improve. Rather than keeping his knowledge to himself, he shares his farming techniques with his neighbors, secures stable supply contracts, expands his aquaculture base, and leads the entire village in finding a path to prosperity through the barren land.
