Seven Point Five Yuan Supports the Whole Family, After the Husband Returns He Backs Me Up
In the 1970s, Song Xianglan stayed behind in the countryside. The allowance sent back monthly by her husband Lu Weiguo, after being passed on by his younger brother Lu Mandong, was left with only seven point five yuan in her hands. She farmed in the fields by day and did odd jobs at night, still unable to support her paralyzed mother-in-law and her daughter who was starving and burning with fever. The letters asking for help were intercepted one by one by Lu Mandong, rumors filled the village, and she was driven to a desperate situation. A long-distance phone call made Lu Weiguo, far away in the army, shocked to learn of the tragic situation at home, and he rushed back to the village. At this time, the clan elders, bewitched by Lu Mandong, were about to expel Song Xianglan and snatch away the child. But when Lu Weiguo pushed open the ancestral hall doors, what he held in his hand was a receipt that no one had ever seen.
