The orphan Zhou Shitou grew up on the kindness of his entire village, carrying a deep dream of studying and going to college. With the help of the rural teacher Shen Mingyue, kind Grandma Zhang, and all the villagers, he braved extreme poverty, herding cattle while studying hard and teaching himself day and night. Along the way, he faced numerous hardships such as ruined study materials, a lost exam admission ticket, and jealousy and sabotage from others, but he remained true to his original aspiration. In the end, he overcame all odds to be admitted into Peking University. After completing his studies, he returned to give back to his hometown by building schools and leading fellow villagers toward prosperity, fulfilling his gratitude and youthful promise through an inspiring life.
